Transcription

A member from Tennessee assured me yesterday that the Democrats would accept negro suffrage,and the Republicans oppose it, before the expirations of two months. The gentleman referred to was neither Maynard, Stokes, nor Cooper. I hear this idea so frequently repeated that I am led to believe that the conservative party will assume negro suffrage in the whole South- Washington Letter in Louisville Journal
