The Virginia Convention is dead. Gone is the Underwood Convention and the corrupt "politicians" that brought the wretched Convention to life. To the joy of every "honest and sensible" white Virginian man, the Virginia Convention concluded on April 17th. These black citizens and staunch Radicals will no longer be able to injure Virginia with their Constitution, which is clearly one of utter failure and imminent rejection. This constitution grants all men, including the "negro," the right to vote while simultaneously disfranchising various past Confederate sympathizers and office-holders. As the Dispatch sees it "
