Local Matters

September 1, 1868

Disorderly Conduct of Negroes. - On Sunday night a gang of noisy negroes, passing up Broad street, made themselves very obnoxious to Sabbath-loving people, and actually assaulted several persons. Passing No. 630 Broad street one of the party threw a brick which, striking a Mrs. Ahmann in the face, inflicted a very painful wound. Further up Broad street the rascals knocked a white man down, and afterwards created a row with a negro on a cross street. No clue to the identity of the parties.
