Summary
It is thought that Jefferson Davis will be pardoned by the President and released on parole instead of facing jail time, the Dispatch, however, is doubtful that there wont be a trial
Transcription
The correspondent of the New York News says that the President will soon release Mr.Davis on parole, and that there is no evidence that could convict him (we suppose of complicity with the assassination.) On the same authority it is asserted that he will not be brought to trial. (Doubtful)
