Transcription

Hon. James Brooks, at the dinner given him at home the other day, said ; "But he felt that the lot assigned him was the lot of Voorhees and Stockton, and would ultimately be the lot of the President of the United States ; for there was no question but that it was part of their program to oust the President if the autumn elections should be favorable to their designs. The Radical were revolutionary in their purposes, and they intended to hold control of the Government by any means in their power."
