Freedmen's Bureau- Bad news for the south

The Special Committee on Freedmen passes a bill expanding the powers of the Freedmen's Bureau.
The Special Committee on Freedmen agreed on a bill to-day to enlarge the powers of the Freedmen's Bureau. One of its features is the provision made for homesteads on public lands in Southern States for such colored persons as may become actual settlers on them.
