Military Districts Discontinued

Northern troops continue withdrawing from military posts established during the war.
By the discretion of Major-General Hancock, the military districts of Western Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Eastern Shore and District of Western Virginia have been discontinued. Haper's Ferry will be maintained as an independent post. Major-General Herilsod, United States Volunteers, has been assigned temporarily to the command of the Department of Georgia.
