Dredging Machine in the Basin

Summary
The city has employed a machine that is dredging out the River to allow larger ships to use it. This is another decision made by the city to increase trade with other cities.
Transcription
Dredging Machine in the Basin.--the dredging machine now working in the basin, under the charge of Major W. G. Turpin, is successfully prosecuting its work. Since the 8th of last month the machine has excavated 400 square yards. The machine is now unshipping its tackle and preparing to move farther up the canal.
