Registration for voting continues in Monroe Ward.Many more people register to vote during the second week of registration.An excess of 600 black men were left after registration ended on Monday.There are 1,441 white men registered and 1,886 black men registered.

Registration in Monroe Ward. - Registration was resumed in Monroe Ward yesterday, and a larger number were registered than on any previous day. The negoes made quite a rally, and their committees were busy during the day in every portion of the city. Occasionally squads of from fifty to a hundred could be seen going from the different quarters of the city towards the place of registration. In the evening the result stood: Whites, 254; blacks, 854. Excess of blacks, 600. The aggregate result thus far is: Whites, 1,441; blacks, 1,886. Excess of blacks, 745.
