At a great Johnson endorsement meeting, held the other day in New Haven, Conn., Mr.Doolittle, United States Senator from Wisconsin, made the following statement: "Generals Grant and Sherman, both authorized him to say, that in their opinion, "an attempt to force negro suffrage upon them (the people of the South) would deluge the whole land in blood."
