Summary
In an attempt to restrict Hunnicutt, Lindsey proposes the disfranchisement of any officer in the past who was affiliated with the Confederacy. Hunnicutt himself was once a white supremacist leaving the Dispatch wondering if Hunnicutt would be restricted too under Lindsey's proposition.
Transcription
Hit at Hunnicutt.-The mulatto named Lindsey, who hails from this city, in the mongrel Convention yesterday proposed to disfranchise all officers of Government, all officers of corporations, and all in military service who aided the Confederacy. Masset, his white cooperator, proposed to amend by disfranchising all who voted for the ordinance of secession. Hunnicutt being in that category, this must be aimed at him.
