Summary
The Civil Rights bill is now in the final stages of approval, the Dispatch and some of the Northern papers believe that the President will sign the bill into law.
Transcription
Senator Nye, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Enrolled Bills, placed before the President, on last Friday night, the Civil Rights bill. It is deemed tolerably certain that it will be signed. Those Republicans who claim to be his especial friends, all say he will sign it, and the reconstructed who are now here denounce it as worse than the Freedmen's Bureau Bill- New York Tribune
